The meaning of summer, the end of summer comes along with the mandotary internship projects… pheww! My second day at work and my body still not adapted to these getting up earlies and going to bed earlies. Must take a week or so to stop moaning in the mornings and have an appettite even a bit before i find myselfin the service bus to work.
however, two days have passed i fell i got into what’s going on there, and thanks to people there who really help to me to get adapted so quick
Luckily i have work to do and soon will have a laptop of my own so i fell like a real business woman
but still (incoming confess) i really missed my school!

The Mars Volta – Octahedron
This has to be one of the best albums released this year. The vocals, guitar solos, it’s an amazing album, I’ve been listening it for the past 3 days continiously. Especially the song Since We’ve Been Wrong , although very different and melancholic compared to their other songs is my favourite one. It reminds me a little bit of Pearl Jam -Black, I guess its mainly because of the lyrics.
Don’t forget to check out the whole album!

Summer, aside from being the time to relax and dream about sunshine and beaches, it’s the time to go to concerts. I’ve even made my schedule for the whole summer and adding new concerts as they’re announced day by day. Istanbul, hosting successful festivals, steals my heart and everyday I found my self more and more into music appreciation! This summer the recommended concerts and festivals are as follows:
İstanbul Jazz Festival
Rock’n'Coke
Dream Theater
Leonard Cohen
Loreena McKennitt
Efes Pilsen One Love
Just checking out the schedule of the jazz festival i can say one who lives in istanbul must attend to one of these concerts even he’s far from jazz. You have to feel the urge that brings you back to these concert venues once again next year. Especially recommended:
Emiliana Torrini -you can listen from here
SMV - you can listen Marcus Miller from here
Last summer I attended Marcus Miller Concert in Jazz Festival and it was impressive, and here he goes with this band, including three successful bass player. A must-see-show!
Emiliana Torrini, is for me the randomly discovered cool music and finally found out that she’s in the Jazz festival, too.You will feel the tranquility and peace running in your veins when you listen to her. Well, that’s what i feel
aaand about myself: i feel so stressed about my finals and projects and so that I found myself sitting dully in my dorm, doing nothing which i call is the unconscious stress relief that comes when you can’t meet the deadlines and the stress is exceeding your threshold
But funny though, i found myself smiling today on shuttle, while coming to İstanbul for my intern interview -oh yes they’re definitely boring- because tomorrow is my birthday! It’s a superstition that i have for so long that even when everything goes incredibly bad everything just disappears for one day -namely my birthday- then everything is a reason to smile. Last call for the ones who doesn’t remember my birthday, i love it when people celebrate it! (i’m very spoilt on my birthday, a precaution for the ones near to me)
All for now- reporting from Starbuck Carrefour

and btw. what was chris cornell thinking? and the worst part is it’s stuck in my head and i might even actually start liking it. oh and someone on last.fm commented on this song as “britney cornell” which made me laugh for a looong time. maybe i really should sleep. ~ayse naz

Everytime I hang out in Taksim i find myself saying “yes this is the loveliest place for me in all the places I’ve been so far. It was 11pm and I had to jump over people to find my way to subway. On the way also I found myself sitting in Şampiyon eating Midye Dolma (yes, even though my belly was literally hanging from the top of my jeans I can eat like 20 of them or so). It was a birthday party, my excuse to hang around in Taksim. I just love every bit of it. the dirt, the people, the unbearable sound coming from different places…
With my new lens that I bought for my Canon, I started taking more photos than ever. I started to post them in my Flickr, which I unfortunately discovered lately ( so lately). So just check them out. Yes I like to see that people look them and even comment -makes me more motivated.

Been to the Opeth concert held on previous sunday at Küçük Çiftlik Park ( in my memories is the place where I broke my tooth!) My first time at a “real” metal concert as my friends call it, was an extraordinary experience -so many guys with long and greasy hair and soo many gothic ugly girls all around, I know yea I looked not well there with my pearl earrings and my fancy clothes, but anyway was a rally great concert with so much energy to relieve, with a nice communication between the band and the audience, I actually loved it. Hey btw my roomie is now sailing away with our sail club in our university, yes i do envy her – to tell you the truht
here is a photo I took form the concert: enjoy!

I’ve always wanted to keep a movie database of my own, listing everything I watched, liked, hated or recommended. I was searching on the web a simple database that I could create (hey actually I thought of doing one by myself – but thanks to my mininal database knwoledge I faced with reality that it’s not possible
) and I found an excellent database called the Eric’s Movie Database. I think it’s really working well and just the way I thought and even better! You can download it free form this link. I really loved it and actually even thought about donating some money because it’s worth.
I started my database, how about yours??

Wanted – Weapons Of Fate, supposed to be an amazing game, if only I could have opened it! How I love runtime errors. I downloaded my demo version from here, and it appears that it doesn’t work well with Vista.
Now I have to watch the movie again, just because I wanted to play it so much. It’s a great movie, actually not my usual taste in movies but very stunning all the same. It’s not badly ranked on IMDB as well.
Speaking of games, isn’t this amazing? ( Cloud / Final Fantasy VII ) Go check its original size! ~ Ayse Naz
